Indeed, every week the tasks turn more challenging and time consuming. It has been taking me a lot to create my own rubric, but finally I made it. There are so many descriptors that you do not know which ones to choose.
Anyway, the use of rubrics is highly relevant, since the new trend is to work in projects at schools and universities. Pbl is useful because the process becomes an important part of learning, more than the result. Therefore, projects such as portfolios, diaries, etc, become more authentic activities.
Webquests are much more interesting, because somehow you are developing a scientific acivity.
You need to follow the steps, one by one.

ReplyDeleteIt's been a busy week for us all and we finally made it! We've learned many new things each week. PBL can be an alternative to make our students actively participate throughout the learning process. It offers many benefits to our students, and so it worth trying. Writing a rubric seems not to be hard work anymore because we can easily create one by using Rubistar. However, it needs some changes to suit with a particular group of students and classroom setting.
About a Webquest, I haven't created one yet but have had a look at several and found that it could be an online space where students can get together to learn and work step-by-step in their own pace. I'll have one of my own soon.

Deleteyeah, You are right. The lessons and tasks are getting more challenging and it will finally culminate in The Final Project. But once the dust is settled, I think we will miss so much what we have been through together. Don't you think?

DeleteThanks for your comment. And, indeed it is going to be easy to create rubrics, by using Rubistar,but certainly it is necessary to make some adjustment to fit the corresponding classes.
